When suffering from lower back pain, you need to keep in mind that providing strength for the muscles supporting the spine will relieve and even eliminate the uncomfortable back pain. How can you achieve strong muscles? By using the proper exercising techniques and stretches that will improve your body posture and also prevent any back strain. While the benefits of exercising are obvious when it comes to muscles, one may wonder about the importance played by stretching exercises.
In order for reducing the risks of injury and accidents, keep in mind to reserve a few minutes of your time for a small warm-up session that can be achieved either to do exercise bike work on a stationary bike or simply by walking or performing some light aerobic.
Daily exercise plan
A daily exercise plan will not only save you from the lower back pain, but it will also reduce the risk of suffering from such pains in the future. Keep in mind that you must utterly avoid holding your breath while exercising because that can lead to a spike in the blood pressure.
Reducing lower back pain
One of the easiest exercises for reducing lower back pain is by performing what is called the cat stretch. Do this exercise by sitting on all fours, placing your head under the shoulder level and your knees under the hips. Lean your head towards the floor while tucking your hips and lift your back as high as possible just like cats do. Linger in this position for about five seconds and repeat it ten times.
Another useful exercise is by sitting in the same position as in the beginning of cat stretch, but raising your head up while also lifting your hips up and letting your stomach lowering to the floor. This exercise, as the motion suggests, is called the camel stretch.
Tightening your abs
The pelvic tilt helps relieving the pain by sitting on your back, with your knees bent and your feet flat on the surface of the floor. Try tightening your abs while pushing your lower back against the floor. Hold this for five seconds and perform the exercise in sets of ten repetitions.
These are just a few simple lower back pain exercises that you can help you to improve the strength and vigor of your muscles. Try them at home as they are easy to be performed, but remember to ask your physician first if you know that your current medical condition might affect this routine.
