We have talked about the use of resistance bands or resistance tubes previously on Laurens Fitness, and the fact is that they have a lot of great uses. They are exceptionally versatile, and you can take them wherever you want. What we didn’t discuss so much was the used of these bands in high performance training…they are actually a great tool to use to get some high level conditioning in. Recently I have been doing a lot of work with them, and this video is a great example of one particular exercise I used to get a lot of glute conditioning, drive through my hips, and to generally help speed and power. You basially attach two perform better resistance bands together, put it around your hips, and away you go. The video explains it best. It is quite hard work and you really need to drive through your bum to get height. You can do it for conditioning, but I mostly use it as a way to get my glutes activated and for a bit of jump training. Helps to be innovative when training, keeps things interesting and exposes your body to new stimulus’s. Just another idea for you.
