Staying fit can be a challenge, especially when some of the things you do can become repetitive, hence making you either lose your enthusiasm with your fitness program or give it up altogether. Staying in shape can indeed be a struggle for some. If you’re in the same dilemma, try to look for ways to spice it up by modifying your program every now and then without necessary drastically altering it.
If you’re about to start out with an exercise program, you have to prepare for it. Among others, be sure to plan an ideal program for you (you may need the assistance of a personal trainer for this), ensure that you have the proper equipment, and set up a reasonable schedule for it. Know what health supplements (for bodybuilding, supplements like Jack3d are very ideal) you would have to take to complement your workouts. Simply put, you just don’t dive into something without considering what impact it’s going to have on your day-to-day routine. Get ready to give up certain things, as getting into any fitness program has its own tradeoffs.
Here are some of the lifestyle changes you may have to make once you get into a fitness or exercise program:
1. No more Friday night drink with your buddies. Well, you can still go out with them, of course. Who’s stopping you? But if you think it’s just going to be another night of booze, which means another overloading session of alcohol, you might want to reconsider those night-outs and perhaps just invite them for a swim or play a sport that you all like over the weekend.
2. Adieu, drive-through. The food offered at drive-throughs is usually the unhealthy kind, so you might want to give that quick trip to them a second thought. You can store up some healthy food in your fridge instead like vegetable salads so that every time you feel the hunger pangs at night, you can have quick access to food minus the unwanted calories.
3. More dream time. Sleeping for at least 5-6 hours every day for adults is ideal, but it’s better if you can do more than that if your schedule allows for it. This means you may have to cut down on your TV viewing and give up those reality shows or the late replay of your favorite sports shows.
4. Being smoke-free. And by this we mean both giving up on smoking and staying away from the noxious fumes emitted by vehicles, which, of course, is close to being impossible if you live in a city. If you don’t smoke, you also need to stay away from those who do, as passive or secondhand smoking can be as detrimental to your health.
5. Smile a lot more. They say that it takes more facial muscles to frown than to beam, so make it easy on yourself. Smiling actually helps boost your immune system since your body is more relaxed when you do. This is not to mention the fact that you’ll be making more friends if you flash that smile more often.
